Arcade Emulator

Arcade emulator - An arcade emulator is a program that emulates one or more arcade games on a different computer, such as a PC. See the List of emulators for examples of arcade emulators.

LASER (emulator) - LASER is an emulator for arcade games using the Intel 8080 microprocessor. The name is an acronym that stands for Little Arcade System Emulator Releases.

Xcade - XCade was one of the very first arcade emulators developed around 1995 (pre-dating MAME by a short time, but following Neil Bradley's Atari vector emulator for instance), and one of the first multi-game emulators. It was probably the first released arcade emulator for Unix/X11 systems though there were a couple of unreleased emulators in works at the time.

EmuDX - EmuDX was the first publicly released emulator for playing genuine arcade games with remade graphics, music, and sound effects. Since the emulator used the actual ROM images, the gameplay stayed true to the arcade original.
